Booking and Payment Questions

What payment methods are accepted when pre-booking online?

  • Visa and MasterCard, debit and credit cards are accepted
  • American Express and Diners are not currently supported for online booking. American Express may be used for drive up transactions only.

Is my transaction secure?
Yes, our website transactions feature EVSSL (Extended Validation Secure Socket Layer) certification which means you can transact online with us safely and securely.

Can I book at short notice?
YES:

  • New bookings can be made up to 23:59pm the day before the entry to the car park (subject to product terms and conditions)
  • Amendments and cancellations can be made up until 23:59pm the day before entry to the car park (subject to product terms and conditions) via Manage My Booking

Can I save my quote and come back to it later?
Unfortunately this is not currently possible.

Is there an additional booking fee?
No. We do not charge additional credit card or booking fees. The price you see is the price you pay.

How far ahead can I book?
You can book up to 12-months in advance. This guarantees the rate you pay.

How long can I book for?
Any period up to 99 days. Charges are calculated in 24-hr blocks. The minimum charge is 24 hours

How do I know my booking was successful?
Within ten minutes of paying for your booking, you will receive an email with a booking reference number confirming all your booking details.

Please print this email and bring it with you (including the map of where your chosen car park is).

You can view your booking by simply clicking on “Manage My Bookings”.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
You may cancel your booking until 23:59pm the day before entry to the car park (subject to product terms and conditions). You will be refunded the full purchase price less cancellation charges of $2.

What if I need to change my booking?
Go to “Manage My Bookings” to change your booking up to 23:59pm the day before entry to the car park, at no charge. You will need your email address, postcode and booking reference.

What happens if I forget or lose my booking confirmation?
You are still able to enter and exit the booked car park. Simply tap or insert the credit card you used to pay online at the entry and exit.

You can reprint your confirmation by entering your email address and postcode at “Display Previous Bookings

What is “Manage My Bookings”?
This allows you to change or cancel your booking online, subject to product terms and conditions.

  • You can change:
  • your car park and product, subject to availability;
  • the dates booked; and
  • any personal information including contact details.

All changes must be up to 23:59pm prior to the day of arrival at Mackay Airport Parking.

What is “Display Previous Bookings”?
This shows you all previous online bookings made with Mackay Airport Parking. Simply enter the email address and postcode from your last online booking.

 

Parking Questions

What do I do when I get to the car park?

The confirmation email you receive on booking contains instructions on what to do when you arrive at the car park. This information is also contained here ‘Maps and Info’ For car park maps please refer to the individual car park information pages on our website.

1> At Entry

  • Go to the entry barrier of your booked car park.
  • DO NOT TAKE A TICKET
  • Tap or insert the same credit card you used to pay online

2> Park your vehicle in any space and proceed to the terminal

If you have any issues press the intercom for help, either on entry or at a Pay Station located on the central walkway to the terminal..

The entry barrier opened automatically, is this right?
Mackay Airport Parking are trialing a Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) system on the long term car park. If it opened automatically, it has recognised you and you can proceed into the car park as normal. It will also recognise you on departure so long as you exit at your pre-booked time. If you overstay, you will be required to use your credit card to settle balance of payment at exit.
If the entry barrier does not automatically open, please just tap or insert the same credit card you used to pay online and proceed as usual.

What happens when I return?

  • Drive to the exit.
  • Tap or insert the same credit card you used to pay with online. The barrier will open.
  • If you have any issues press the intercom at a pay station for help.

How are the parking charges calculated?
Online booking prices are based on the entry and exit dates and times that you have selected during the booking process. Your booking is only valid for the dates and times that you have booked. Please check your confirmation for your online booking entry and exit times.

Prices are calculated in periods of 24 hours or more. i.e. 24 hours = 1 day, 24:01 to 48 hours = 2 days.
The minimum charge is 24 hours.

Is there a grace period? What happens if I’m early getting to the Airport or late getting back?
There is a 2 hour grace period  at entry and 1 hour grace period at exit. 
For example:

  • AT ENTRY – if you have booked to enter the car park at 8am, the grace period allows you to arrive from 6am
  • AT EXIT – if you have booked to exit the car park at 8pm, the grace period allows you to exit any time up to 9pm.

Subject to this, if you:

  • Arrive too early, the system will not recognise your booking and you will be treated as a drive up customer for that car park. You will be charged drive up rates for the full period of your stay

  • Leave too late; you will be charged standard drive up rates for that car park for any additional stay in the car park.

What if I go to the wrong car park?
The system will not recognise your booking and you will be treated as a drive up customer for that car park.

What if I bring a different credit card to the one I used for payment?
The credit card you used to pay for your online booking is your parking ticket. Please remember to bring it with you. DO NOT TAKE A TICKET.

If another credit card is used, the system will not recognise your booking and you will be treated as a drive up customer for that car park.

How do I book accessible parking online?
Book online as you would normally. When you arrive at the booked car park, use any of the accessible parking bays that are clearly marked at each site.

What happens if I have prebooked online and accidentally take a ticket?
DO NOT PAY FOR THE TICKET. Press intercom for help at any pay station.

What happens if I exit the car park earlier than the time I pre-booked?
No refund will be made if your stay is shorter than the booking period.

What are the height restrictions in place at Mackay Airport Parking?
The car parks at Mackay Airport Parking are designed according to Australian Standards to accommodate vehicles of a maximum of 4.9m long x 1.9m wide x 4.0m high.

Can I go in and out of the car park within my booking?
Reservations are for one time stays only and do not allow in/out privileges.

General Questions

Does my online booking allocate a specific parking space to me?
No, but it does guarantee you a space – which is perfect for those peak times and means you will always be able to find a space when you arrive.

What if I bring a different car to the airport from the one I registered online?
Amendments and cancellations can be made up until 23:59pm the day before entry to the car park (subject to product terms and conditions) via Manage My Booking.
If you have any issues on the day press the intercom for help at the entry.

Which car parks can I use with online booking?
All of them.

Are the rates different for online booking?
YES!

The best parking deals will always be found online so be sure to book your parking for the best value. The further in advance you book, the better the deals available. Be sure to take advantage of exclusive offers by making online bookings.

What if I need to extend my booking while I’m away?
All amendments must be made no later than 23:59pm the day before arrival at Mackay Airport Parking. It is not possible to amend a booking once you have entered the car park. Drive up rates apply for overstays.

What if I misplace my credit card while on holidays?
On your return to Mackay Airport Parking, please use the intercom at any pay station where a friendly customer service officer will assist you.

Do I need to leave my keys with anyone?
No. Simply park your car and take your keys, confident in the knowledge your car will be ready and waiting upon your return.

What is the rate for motorbikes to park at the airport?
The same rates apply for all customers/vehicles parking at Mackay Airport Parking.

What are the opening hours for Mackay Airport Parking?
Mackay Airport Parking is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with manned security onsite.
