Mackay Airport has an opportunity for an experienced security and customer service professional to join the team as Security Operations Co-ordinator.

This position reports to the Manager Aviation, and is responsible for the coordination of security operations for Mackay Airport ensuring that procedures are followed in accordance with Airport standards, and relevant legislation.

We require a super organised, team player who is looking for an opportunity to apply their highly developed coordinator skills in a busy and security sensitive environment. 

This position is responsible for the management of the ASIC program and Restricted Key Management Program. This includes coordinating the administration, accounting and issue of Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASICs), security keys, CCTV, access systems and maintaining the associated registers.

We are looking for a motivated and articulate coordinator who will be able to assist with enquiries, be the point of contact for security related matters, and represent the Manager Aviation when required. This role will include the review of existing processes and actively participate in the implementation of innovative security strategies, systems and policies. 

This role has a large administrative component, so advanced computer literacy, written communication skills, and proficiency in database management is essential.

Given the nature of the role, confidentiality, exceptional customer service, with the natural ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external airport stakeholders, is paramount in this position.

Previous airport / airline experience or knowledge of airport operations will be highly regarded.

Successful candidates will be required to pass medical, drug and alcohol testing, and a Federal Police clearance is also required for this role.
