At Mackay Airport, we’re committed to ensuring our region thrives. Our strategy is to work and partner with organisations that make a greater difference to our Mackay Isaac community.

Our Mackay Airport Making Christmas a Little Brighter Campaign is aimed at supporting smaller, lesser-known charities and not-for-profit organisations with limited marketing capacity located in our Mackay Isaac region.
In 2025, Mackay Airport were proud to provide $2,000 donation to the following organisations:
-
BMA CQ Rescue: The region’s aeromedical lifeline serving Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac, with support to Townsville and Rockhampton. This contribution helps power their next lifesaving mission.
-
Engedi Mackay: Putting people first and bringing families together through meaningful experiences, kindness and mindful traditions that make the season brighter.
-
MADEC LTD: Supporting children and young people with programs and therapeutic care. This funding helps deliver their annual Children’s Christmas Party and personalised gifts for those in their care.
-
Sarina Surf Lifesaving Club Inc: A volunteer-led club keeping beaches safe while building confidence, leadership and belonging through patrols, nippers and community education.
-
Safe Sleep Mackay: Transforming buses into safe sleeping pods. Our support contributes to the battery power system that provides air conditioning, lights and secure access so guests can rest safely.
This campaign will launch in mid-November 2026 and locals are being asked to nominate deserving organisations through our website. You will also find Donation Globes located around our terminal. Passengers are welcome to donate money into the globes, including any foreign currency. All funds donated into the globes will be invested back into the local community as part of this campaign.
Since the launch of the ‘Making Christmas a Little Brighter’ Campaign in 2023, Mackay Airport has donated over $30,000 to help smaller organisation continue the fantastic work they do in our region.
